ELMIRA HEIGHTS, NEW YORK – July 23, 2020 – John Mills Electric, a full-service electrical contracting company, headquartered in Elmira Heights, New York announced today that it has been recognized by Solar Power World magazine for its solar installation efforts. This is the second year in a row that the company has received this honor. The magazine has published its list of 2020 Top Solar Contractors and ranked John Mills Electric number 82 of 407 companies. This ranking reflects an improvement of 11 positions over the 2019 ranking at #93.
The Top Solar Contractors list is developed each year by Solar Power World to honor the work of solar installers big and small. Solar firms in the utility, commercial and residential markets are ranked by number of kilowatts installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific service (developers, electrical subcontractors, EPCs, installation subcontractors, rooftop installers), markets and states.

The U.S. solar market has continued to thrive in 2020, with 3.6GW of new solar capacity added in the first quarter. However, with the impact of COVID-19, forecasts for Q2 solar demand is expected to decrease somewhat in year-over-year installation volumes.
